Honeymoon Israel Expands with Argentina Trips, Reimagining Jewish Travel for a New Moment
New Buenos Aires itineraries bring purpose-driven travel to couples in Denver/BoulderNew York City, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Bay Area
(Atlanta, Georgia – April 28, 2026) — Honeymoon Israel (HMI), a nonprofit founded to address the growing reality of multi-heritage relationships and strengthen Jewish connection among young couples, is launching a series of immersive trips to Buenos Aires for fall 2026. The program will serve couples fromDenver/Boulder, New York City, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Bay Area, offering a thoughtfully designed alternative to its traditional Israel experience.
“These Argentina experiences are a continuation of why we were founded,” says Avi Rubel, CEO and co-founder of HMI. “Our goal has always been to help couples build meaningful connections to Jewish life and to each other. This is about meeting the moment while staying true to that purpose.”
While Israel remains central to HMI’s mission, the organization is adapting to a moment when travel there can feel complicated or out of reach for some. In Argentina, the experience is designed to unfold in simple but meaningful ways: long, shared dinners, unexpected conversations, and a group of couples from the same city who begin as strangers and leave feeling deeply connected. Along the way, participants engage with Argentina’s dynamic Jewish community, adding another layer of cultural and human connection to the journey.
Where Modern Couples Find Community
HMI was created in response to rising intermarriage rates and a recognition that Jewish life must evolve to meet couples where they are. The organization focuses on a pivotal moment in a young couple’s life: when they are building a future together, asking big questions, and deciding what matters most to them.
Honeymoon Israel brings together couples from a wide range of backgrounds, including LGBTQIA+ and interracial couples, creating a community that reflects the diversity and reality of modern relationships. By engaging couples where one or both partners identify as Jewish, HMI creates shared travel experiences that spark meaningful conversations, deepen relationships, and inspire lasting connections to Jewish community and identity.
The Argentina Experience
The Argentina experience brings HMI’s core model to a new setting. In Buenos Aires, home to one of the largest Jewish communities in the world, participants will explore the city’s rich cultural and Jewish history while engaging in conversations about identity, belonging, and partnership.
The itinerary blends iconic experiences with deeper, community-based encounters, including:
- Building friendships with a cohort of 20 couples from the same city
- Visiting historic Jewish neighborhoods and institutions
- Sharing meals with local families and community leaders
- Exploring Argentina’s culture through food, art, and nightlife
Throughout the journey, participants will not only engage deeply with local Jewish life, but also begin to understand the broader global story of the Jewish people and its connection to Israel. The experience is guided by Israeli tour educators, and includes opportunities to connect with Israeli couples who join the group for part of the trip—bringing personal perspectives that deepen conversations and create meaningful cross-cultural exchange.
Like all HMI trips, the experience is designed not just as travel, but as a catalyst for ongoing community. Couples participate in pre- and post-trip gatherings, creating relationships that extend well beyond the time abroad.
For many participants, that sense of connection is what makes the experience transformative.
“My husband and I thought that, at best, we would come away from our HMI experience with a couple new friends and a few Jewish experiences to reflect upon,” shared 2025 Argentina participant Jordan, from Chicago. “We did not anticipate that we would bond so strongly with the entire group… we already feel like we have a Jewish community!”
Travel Logistics & Eligibility
The Argentina experience is priced at $500 per couple, reflecting significant subsidy thanks to HMI’s donors and supporters. Participants book their own flights, providing flexibility around schedules and travel preferences, while HMI handles accommodations, curated experiences, and on-the-ground logistics.
The program is open to couples in committed relationships, typically ages 25–40, with at least one Jewish partner, and based in the participating cities.
