Feeling judged for caring about or questioning Israel?

Not everyone will get it. But we do. Explore with HMI.

Welcome to Honeymoon Israel

Honeymoon Israel (HMI) is for couples navigating complicated feelings about being Jewish, or even just caring about Israel, in spaces where that’s not always understood. If you’ve felt judged or alienated for your identity or curiosity, this trip offers a safe, supportive place to process it all.

Together with other thoughtful couples, you’ll explore Israel beyond the headlines, hear from diverse voices, and wrestle with the hard questions in real conversations, not sound bites. There’s no script and no pressure, just a chance to reconnect with your identity, your partner, and a community that gets it.

Because your Jewish story deserves space, nuance, and people to walk it with.

In Their Own Words

“A lot of us are feeling unfairly judged and vilified in our social circles, purely for being Jewish or Jewish-adjacent. HMI gave me a network I didn’t know I needed.”

Diversity of Israel and the Jewish Community

While we’ll be sure to bring you to the must-see spots throughout the trip, here’s a glimpse of some of the diverse speakers, meaningful workshops, and other special stops we make to dive deeper into the diversity of Israel and the Jewish community. Click here for more details about our trip itineraries.

  • Israel 101: On each trip, our tour educators offer a brief “Israel 101” covering the country’s vast history, shifting borders, and the complex realities of modern day Israel. When it comes to Israel’s layered and complicated history, we’re all showing up with different opinions, questions, and levels of knowledge. This overview is just a starting point for the many topics the group works to unpack together over the course of the trip.
  • Ibrahim Abu Ahmed and Amira Mohammed: Hear powerful stories and insights from two Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, peace advocates, and hosts of the wartime podcast Unapologetic: The Third Narrative. Gain a deeper understanding of the Palestinian perspective about the experience of Arab citizens of Israel and learn about some of the larger regional dynamics at play today.
  • Avraham Infeld: Educator Avraham Infeld’s presentation, The Five-Legged Table: Reflections on the Jewish Family, provides our couples with a meaningful and thought-provoking framework on what Jewish identity and community are all about. At HMI, one of our goals is to help you find your own modes of Jewish expression, and Avraham’s philosophy is a great place to start.
