Apply for HMI
Current Trips
Applying is the first step in beginning your HMI journey — and your community journey. From the moment you apply, you’ll have opportunities to connect with other local couples through meaningful applicant events in your city. Many friendships begin even before the trip, creating something to look forward to together.
There’s a lot happening in the world right now, especially when it comes to Israel. It’s complex, emotional, and hard to make sense of. But we believe this is exactly the kind of moment to lean in. Find your city and apply below — or join our mailing list to be notified when applications open near you.

Application FAQs
Am I eligible for Honeymoon Israel’s program?
HMI is open to couples of all cultural, racial, religious, gender, and sexual identities who are looking to create connections with each other and to Jewish life. HMI’s program is for young couples with at least one Jewish partner (we define that broadly!) who are early in their marriage or lifelong committed partnership. All couples are based in the same metro area to enhance community-building during and after the trip. Find more details about our eligibility requirements.
What is the application process?
If an application is open in your city, you and your partner should submit an application. Once we review your application, you may be invited to an in-person interview. Interviews are an opportunity for us to get to know you and your partner and better understand how HMI can support you at this time in your life. We’ll let you know within a few weeks whether you’ve been secured a spot on a trip or not. Read more about our application and interview process.
I’m not sure how I feel about Israel. Is this trip trying to make me love Israel or push a political agenda?
Not at all. Honeymoon Israel isn’t about telling you what to think—it’s about giving you space to explore your own connection to Israel, Jewish identity, and community in a way that feels meaningful to you. We know that people come on our trips with a wide range of perspectives and questions. Our goal is to create an open, inclusive environment where you can learn, ask questions, and connect with others, without pressure or expectation. Our trip itinerary ensures you have a chance to explore diverse perspectives, ask questions, and explore the complexity of Israel. There’s no political agenda—just an invitation to experience, reflect, and be in community.
Is it safe to travel to Israel right now?
The safety of our participants and staff is always our top priority. We ensure that all groups are following the most updated safety and security guidelines in Israel, and each group is accompanied by armed security personnel out of an abundance of caution. We work with experienced, accredited, professional tour educators and trip operators who have access to the most up-to-date security information.
Due to the ongoing war in Israel and the region, we’ve had to postpone many trips since October 7, but are resuming travel in fall 2025. We are committed to only going to Israel when it is safe to do so and are continuously evaluating the situation on the ground there.
How does Honeymoon Israel determine who gets accepted?
We look at a variety of factors to determine who gets accepted, including whether a couple meets eligibility criteria. We will do our best to get to know you to understand whether Honeymoon Israel might be a good fit for you.
In Their Own Words
“To be honest, my partner and I joined hoping for a cheap trip to Israel with some education about Jewish culture. I think we were both worried HMI would try to push Judaism on us which would make us both uncomfortable. Instead, what we gained was a true feeling of community with amazing people who love us for us. We gained friends,... education about Jewish culture, the Israel/Palestine situation, and an appreciation for the history of Jewish culture… Apply and keep applying, especially if you feel lost, need a community, some friends, or just down for a cheap trip to Israel. What you gain will be so much more than what you think you're looking for.”
