Want to “do Jewish” with your HMI family? We’re here to help! After your Israel trip, your Jewish journey continues at home. Honeymoon Israel (HMI) is here to support you as you explore Jewish life in a meaningful way. Our Alumni Micro Grants help subsidize a variety of opportunities, whether a Hebrew class or gatherings with your HMI friends.

HMI Alumni Micro Grant Guidelines

Alumni Micro Grants are intended to support you as you explore Judaism and your connection to the HMI community and larger Jewish community. While not intended to cover the whole cost of a program or opportunity, we hope the grants are helpful in supporting your continued Jewish gatherings, celebrations, and learning.

General Guidelines:

  • Alumni Micro Grants are available to HMI alumni at any point in their alumni journey
  • The opportunity should be centered around an element of Jewish learning or ritual to be eligible
  • All grants are made in the form of reimbursements after the event
  • If you are co-hosting an event, only one Alumni Micro Grant will be approved per event
  • If you are attending a program with your HMI friends, you can either apply for a bulk set of tickets (i.e. five tickets) or each individual attendee can apply separately

Application Process

  1. Application. Submit your application for an Alumni Micro Grant at least 10 business days in advance.
  1. Notification. It might take up to seven business days for our team to notify whether your request is approved or if we need more information.
  1. Reimbursement. You’ll fill out a brief reimbursement request within 14 days of the completion of your program. We’ll ask you to confirm your costs and/or attendees, share about how the event went, and provide a photo of the event.
  1. Payment. All reimbursements are made via a mailed check or emailed gift card and sent within five weeks of your reimbursement request approval.
