Israeli Couples Sought to Join American Couples for Honeymoon Israel Mifgash
More than a romantic getaway, this multi-day mifgash exchange includes hotel accommodations and tour activities as well as opportunities for professional networking and meaningful dialogue during this pivotal time in Israeli history
(Atlanta, GA – April 3, 2025) – U.S. based organization Honeymoon Israel is currently recruiting Israeli couples to join 20 American couples as part of their 10-day group journey in Israel. Ideal candidates are strong English speakers between the ages of 25 and 45 who can share authentically about Israeli life, identity, and culture and are open to engaging with new perspectives through meaningful discussions.
Honeymoon Israel, also known as HMI, is a program for Jewish and interfaith couples from U.S. cities to experience modern Israel and explore their connection to the Jewish people in Israel and at home.
The Israeli couples will join the American couples as they tour Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and other parts of Israel, visiting significant historical, cultural, and natural sites. Throughout the journey, they will serve as a welcoming host and conversation partner, and will have the chance to form personal and professional connections that last far beyond the trip.
“As we resume our travel to Israel, we want to introduce American couples to as many Israelis as possible to facilitate meaningful relationship-building and a lasting cultural exchange,” said Avi Rubel, CEO of Honeymoon Israel. “Our goal is to dig deeper than the heated discourse in the U.S. and encourage open and curious dialogue during a time when both communities could benefit from learning about each other’s personal experiences.”
Honeymoon Israel was founded on this open-arms approach aiming to make young couples of all backgrounds feel welcome in the Jewish community and to inspire them to incorporate Jewish values and traditions into their lives in their own way.
HMl’s participant base is made up of young American couples with diverse backgrounds, including multi-racial and same-sex couples. They are typically between the ages of 25 and 40, and have been married or part of a lifelong committed relationship for five years or less. A majority of the couples identify as interfaith or mixed heritage, meaning just one partner is Jewish, reflecting the demographics of the non-Orthodox American Jewish community.
The couples come from a range of career fields and areas of the United States, providing Israeli participants with the opportunity to expand their professional network while building deep and lasting relationships with American peers.
There is no cost for the Israeli couples chosen to participate in the Honeymoon Israel mifgash. HMI will provide hotel accommodations, tour activities, and transportation while with the group, as well as most meals. Preference will be given to couples who can join for more than three days.
In exchange, the Israeli couples are expected to actively engage with the U.S. couples in English, including acting as “hosts” during free time to help facilitate informal interactions, such as showing American couples around their city and advising on places to eat, drink, or explore.
