DAY 1: On Our Way!

DAY 2: B’ruchim Habaim: Welcome to Israel!
- Welcome to Jerusalem: For thousands of years, tourists, travelers, and pilgrims have celebrated as they take in the first view of Jerusalem. Together, we will stop at the Haas Promenade, a scenic overlook of Jerusalem for a stunning overview of the city, including the walls of the Old City. We will celebrate our arrival with the shehecheyanu (Hebrew for a Jewish blessing for gratitude) acknowledging how fortunate and excited we are to have arrived at this moment.
- Four Tour at Mahane Yehuda Market — Jerusalem’s famous shuk (market), now also a hub of lively cafés and hidden eateries.
- Check in to the hotel and relax.
- Hear from an Israeli geopolitics speaker who will offer context on current events and regional dynamics. This session provides insight into the complexities shaping Israel today and creates space for questions, reflection, and thoughtful conversation.

DAY 3: Sacred Layers: Stories of Complexity and Hope
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- The Five-Legged Table: Reflections on the Jewish Family: This session will provide a thought-provoking framework for the trip and for understanding the foundational aspects of Jewish identity and community.
- Four Quarters, Three Religions, One City: Set off for a walking tour through the Old City of Jerusalem, we will explore the various quarters, to witness diverse communities, their history and holiness.
- Lunch on your own
- Honeymoon Israel Conversation #1 “The Individual”: During our journey, there will be four Honeymoon Israel Conversations, which is dedicated time for the group to process our experience, explore big questions, and build a sense of community.

DAY 4: From Remembrance to Renewal

- Our morning will be spent at Yad Vashem, Israel’s national Holocaust museum and memorial. Here, we’ll honor the memory of the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust (Shoah in Hebrew) and reflect on how this history shapes the Jewish story — and the world — today.
- As Low as It Goes: We’ll leave Jerusalem and journey down to the Dead Sea Basin — 1,412 feet below sea level — the lowest place on earth. We’ll float in the salty sea, enjoy lunch, and take in the breathtaking beauty of Israel’s desert landscapes.
- Dinner on your own
- Evening Options: Join a challah baking experience, attend the light show at the Tower of David, or enjoy free time to explore and unwind on your own.

DAY 5: Service and Solidarity: Repairing the World Together
- Breakfast at the hotel and check out.
- As we head south, we will join our partners at Yahel, a non-profit organization dedicated to responsible and sustainable volunteer experiences in Israel, for a day of volunteering and service learning that addresses real needs in Israel. Tikkun olam (repairing the world) is a core value in Judaism. Volunteering – working to repair the brokenness in our world – is a powerful outward expression of Jewish values.
- Visit the Nova Music Festival memorial site for a moving and reflective experience. Together, we will take time to process what we’ve seen and heard, creating space for shared reflection and conversation.
- Check into Tel Aviv hotel
- Got Questions? Throughout the week, you may have gathered new thoughts, wonderings, or questions about Judaism, Israel, or identity. This is a warm, open space to bring them all. Our Jewish Educator will guide an honest, inclusive group conversation at the hotel.

Day 6: Shabbat Begins: A Shared Celebration

- Kick the morning off with Guru Zuzu, a silent disco through the heart of urban Tel Aviv. Through music, movement, and a quite memorable dance experience, connect with each other, and start your time in Tel Aviv feeling open, energized, and ready for what’s ahead.
- We’ll visit the ANU – Museum of the Jewish People in Tel Aviv. This vibrant interactive museum tells the ongoing story of the Jewish people across time, place, and culture. Through cutting-edge exhibits, it celebrates diversity, heritage, and Jewish identity in all its forms.
- Enjoy free time to wander the shuk (market) and Nachalat Binyamin craft market, browse handmade art, sample local flavors, and soak up the sights, sounds, and energy of Tel Aviv at your own pace.
- As the evening approaches, we’ll come together for Shabbat Candle Lighting and Kabbalat Shabbat (the welcome to Shabbat), on the beach marking the transition into a time of rest and reflection.
- We’ll gather for a Shabbat Dinner at the hotel with the other HMI groups, sharing a beautiful meal to celebrate the beginning of Shabbat.

DAY 7: Holding Tradition, Hearing New Voices
- Breakfast at the hotel
- Hear from an Ethiopian Israeli speaker who will share personal stories and perspectives, offering insight into identity, community, and the diversity of Jewish life in Israel today.
- Participate in a MINYAN Shabbat workshop that invites you to explore the meaning of Shabbat through ritual, reflection, and shared experience, creating space for connection and intention.
- Explore the winding streets of Jaffa on a guided tour, encountering layers of history, culture, and everyday life. Enjoy lunch on your own and take time to wander, taste, and take in the atmosphere at your own pace.
- Free time: spend some time enjoying the iconic Tel Aviv beach and hanging with the locals.
- We’ll then come together for our second Honeymoon Israel Conversation, followed by a memorable Havdalah service overlooking the beach and marking our transition to a new week.

Day 8: Currents of Connection Along the Kinneret
- Breakfast at the hotel and check out.
- As we head north, our groups will visit either Sindyanna and Beit HaGefen, organizations working to build shared society through dialogue, education, and community-based initiatives.
- Lunch on your own
- Gather for an overview of the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee), exploring its geographic, historical, and cultural significance and why this region holds such meaning.
- Check in to the hotel and unwind. Dinner will be provided, giving time to relax and reconnect as a group.
- End the night with a boat ride featuring music, a DJ, and dancing, a joyful way to celebrate the day together.

Overnight: Northern Israel
DAY 9: Mysticism, Meaning, and Farewell
- Breakfast at the hotel and check out
- We’ll travel to Tsfat (Safed), the mystical city nestled in the Galilee mountains and a center of Kabbalah and Jewish spirituality for centuries. As we wander its winding alleys, we’ll explore ancient synagogues, vibrant artist quarters, and breathtaking views that make Tsfat unlike any other place in Israel.

- We’ll then come together for our final meaningful Honeymoon Israel Conversation marking our transition back home followed by dinner.
