Different Backgrounds. Big Questions.
One Journey—Together.

Explore what Israel and Judaism mean to you as a couple.

Welcome to Honeymoon Israel

Honeymoon Israel is for couples who want to explore life, love, Judaism—and Israel—together, even if they’re not starting on the same page. Many of our participants are interfaith couples, navigating different backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences. If one of you is Jewish and the other is coming in with curiosity, questions, or even hesitation, this trip is for you.

You don’t need to agree about Israel to explore it side-by-side. HMI offers a powerful way to connect across differences, build mutual understanding, and experience Israel firsthand—beyond headlines, beyond assumptions. Walk ancient streets, meet Israelis with diverse perspectives, and wrestle with the complexities of Judaism and Israel together.

HMI creates space for real conversations, new friendships, and meaningful Jewish connection—at home and abroad.

In Their Own Words

“I am happy to report that HMI was so very different than we thought it would be. Not ONCE did we ever feel pushed towards a specific religion or belief. The only thing that was encouraged throughout the trip was to have an open mind and ask all the questions! Being an interfaith couple, my husband and I tried to be as open, honest, and vulnerable as possible and this trip changed our life. The people we met, the food we ate, the sights we saw, the history we learned, the warm fuzzy feels that we felt, the community that we built, it is quite literally impossible to put into words...
We left Israel sad that this incredible experience was over but excited to engage more in the Jewish community and hang out with all of our new friends!”

Diversity of Israel and the Jewish Community

While we’ll be sure to bring you to the must-see spots throughout the trip, here’s a glimpse of some of the diverse speakers, meaningful workshops, and other special stops we make to dive deeper into the diversity of Israel and the Jewish community. Click here for more details about our trip itineraries.

  • MINYAN: Experience an interactive workshop with MINYAN, an inclusive community that reimagines Jewish traditions for today’s world – it feels like they were made for our unique HMI couples! They work to bridge the gap between secular Israelis and Jewish ritual using their creative approach to learning, which they’ll show us as we connect stories from Jewish history to modern journeys in the land of Israel.
  • Ibrahim Abu Ahmed and Amira Mohammed: Hear powerful stories and insights from two Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, peace advocates, and hosts of the wartime podcast Unapologetic: The Third Narrative. Gain a deeper understanding of the Palestinian perspective about the experience of Arab citizens of Israel and learn about some of the larger regional dynamics at play today.
  • The Old City of Jerusalem: Are you a history buff? Wait until you get to walk through the Old City of Jerusalem. Between the magnitude of the Kotel (Western Wall) to the beautiful architecture of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and the Temple Mount, it’s an eye-opening way to witness diverse communities, their history and holiness.
