HMI Chicago: Making Light: Shabbat Candle Making

March 14 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm EDT

Making Light: Shabbat Candle Making with Artist Rachel Ellison
Thursday, March 14 at 7:30pm at Base Logan Square

Join artist Rachel Ellison of Bat Sarah Press and Rav Moshe of Base Logan Square for Making Light! Beautify the mitzvah (commandment) of welcoming Shabbat as we explore the interconnection between light, Torah, and art making. We’ll discuss Jewish texts about light and Jewish conceptions of light with Rav Moshe, and then Rachel Ellison will lead us in creating our own Shabbat candles. No skill level required! As always there will be something to drink and delicious to nosh on. Address will be provided the evening before the event.
