HMI at Home began as our virtual programming initiative to keep us all connected throughout the pandemic. Now, HMI at Home is so much more than virtual events. It encompasses incredible opportunities for meaningful connection that happen online and in person in your city! From Shabbat to holidays to challah baking, the HMI community is here for you.

HMI Atlanta: Havdalah at MACoM

February 25 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm EST

The Metro Atlanta Community Mikvah (MACoM) is marking their seventh year here in Atlanta, and HMI is excited for the opportunity to help them celebrate with this special evening of music, friendship, learning, and hot (adult) beverages. Bundle up and gather ‘round the bonfire as we separate Shabbat from the week ahead with an HMI community Havdalah ceremony!

What is a mikvah? It’s a special pool of living waters (natural waters from a flowing source like fresh spring water, rainwater, or even melted snow) that is used for Jewish ritual immersion, and is often used as a way to acknowledge a major life transition.

HMI Atlanta alum Elisa Horowitz recently shared her MACoM mikvah experience with us. Here’s her story in case you missed it!
