Rooted in themes of growth, renewal, and responsibility to the earth, Tu B’Shevat is a natural time to give back. Whether you’re celebrating for the first time or carrying on traditions from childhood, this holiday invites you to turn reflection into action through a service project that supports your local community.

To help spark that joy, HMI will reimburse up to $36 toward supplies for a service project—whether you’re packing hygiene kits, writing letters to elders, or gathering donations for local organizations.

Here are a few ideas to inspire you:

Pack Hygiene Kits:
Gather essentials like soap, toothpaste, and socks to make care packages for people in need. You can even include a small note or drawing to brighten someone’s day.

Write Letters to Elders:
Connect across generations by writing letters or making cards for residents at nursing homes or assisted living centers. Share stories, gratitude, or simply a message of hope.

Gather Supplies for Your Community:
Collect items like non-perishable food, school supplies, or blankets to donate to local organizations. This hands-on project can be a meaningful way for everyone to contribute.
