Do a Service Project

APPLY NOW

One of HMI’s core values is Tikkun Olam, the Jewish concept of repairing and improving the world through acts of service. HMI Alumni Micro Grants will help cover the cost of necessary supplies or other costs associated with completing a service project with your HMI friends, whether that’s making sandwiches to deliver to a shelter or building hygiene kits around the holidays.

What’s Covered?
Apply for an HMI Alumni Micro Grant to cover up to 50% of direct costs for your service project.

“We had an excellent evening bringing together a small group of friends from HMI to share shabbat and talk about MLK's legacy and our own goals for service. We chose a charity that we've done work with in the past, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services (LIRS), who is in need of things to furnish apartments for refugees in the DMV area... We are so grateful to have found a like-minded community of couples that care about the same things we do! Giving back and sharing Shabbat together. We know this is only the beginning of a lifelong friendship centered around service, family, and sharing meals together.”
