Hanukkah invites us to bring a little more light into our homes—night by night, candle by candle. Whether you’re celebrating with your first partner-filled holiday season or continuing traditions from childhood, this is a beautiful time to choose a ritual item that feels meaningful to your family.
To help spark that joy, HMI will reimburse up to $36 toward a new menorah or dreidel that helps illuminate your Hanukkah story.
Here are a few ideas to inspire you:
Menorah:
The menorah is the heart of Hanukkah—eight branches for the eight nights and one helper candle, the shamash, used to light the rest. Families often choose a menorah that reflects their style or heritage, making it both a ritual object and a piece of art that grows more sentimental each year. Looking for ideas? ModernTribe, Etsy artists, and the Jewish Museum Shop all have menorahs in every aesthetic—from classic to quirky to modern minimalist.
Dreidel:
The dreidel is Hanukkah’s playful side. This spinning top carries the Hebrew letters that tell the story of a miracle “that happened there.” A dreidel can be simple, sculptural, hand-painted, or even homemade—perfect for sparking fun, tradition, and maybe a little friendly competition.
Once you’ve found your new Hanukkah item, send us a photo or video—we’d love to see how it adds light, meaning, and a little extra sparkle to your celebration this year!
