A seder plate isn’t just an ordinary plate — it’s full of history, traditions, and symbolism passed down through generations of Jewish families around the world (a seder plate is a special plate containing symbolic foods eaten or displayed at the Passover Seder, aka the ritual dinner held on the first two nights of the holiday). What do each of the foods on the plate stand for? How are they relevant to our lives now, thousands of years after the Jews were freed from slavery in Egypt?
HMI Boston, along with 18Doors and The Vilna Shul, invite you to join us as we dive into these questions and more. Our evening will begin with wine and snacks on the outdoor patio, and you’ll have the chance to meet other Jewish, interfaith, and multifaith couples as you learn about the symbols of the seder plate through play, conversation, and other creative outlets.
