Today, meet Julie Smelansky from #hminewyorkcity! “I love working for HMI because I love helping couples figure out what being Jewish means to them as well as helping couples find community in their home city. I also love traveling to Israel and experiencing Israel with new people!” Julie has been to Israel 20 times! When she’s there, she can’t get enough of the Israeli dips like hummus, labneh (yogurt-based cheese dip), and babaganoush! Each time Julie gets to travel to Israel, she loves exploring Tel Aviv and taking in the beauty of the Negev. Julie can’t wait to get to know the HMI couples and see them experience Israel together for the first time when she leads her first HMI trip as New York City’s new Director of Community Engagement in a few weeks!
