HMI Resources for
Postponed Trips

Welcome to Honeymoon Israel’s (HMI) resources for participants who were scheduled to travel with us in 2020. Due to COVID-19, the trips had to be postponed. As we work diligently to reschedule trips, we hope to provide information and answers to frequently asked questions here.

If you have any questions or would like to connect with us directly, please reach out to us at trips@honeymoonisrael.org.

If we chose for HMI to keep our $2,500 trip fee when our trip was postponed, do we have a guaranteed spot on the next trip from our community?
Yes. Once the next trip from your community is scheduled, we will reach out to you directly and you will have a window of time to confirm your participation. If for any reason the new dates do not work for you, you will have another opportunity to request a full refund from HMI for your trip fee.

If we can’t travel on the rescheduled trip from our community, will we have a chance to participate on HMI in the future? |
At this point in time, HMI is focused on rescheduling the next immediate trip for every group of postponed couples. If you are unable to participate in your rescheduled trip dates, we’d still love for you to participate on HMI in the future if you remain eligible for the experience. Our goal is to ensure all HMI groups are reflective of our community at large, which is why we implement an application process. If you are unable to travel with your originally scheduled group, you will have an opportunity to stay in touch with us and possibly participate on another trip in 2022 and beyond.

If we chose to receive a refund for our $2,500 trip fee when our trip was postponed, will we still receive a guaranteed spot on the next trip from our community?
HMI is only able to guarantee spots on the next trip for couples who chose for HMI to hold their $2,500 trip fee. If we have already refunded your trip fee, we will reach out to you directly if a spot is available on the rescheduled trip dates from your community. If you are offered a spot, in order to confirm your participation, you will need to re-submit your trip fee of $2,500 per couple within a specified time period.

Does HMI’s standard eligibility criteria for age and marriage length apply for the rescheduled trips?
Given the circumstances, HMI has waived the eligibility criteria for age and marriage length for postponed couples participating in their rescheduled trip. However, please note that if you are unable to participate in your rescheduled trip, but wish to participate on HMI in the future, HMI’s standard eligibility criteria may apply.

What are the passport requirements for travel to Israel?
Keep your passport up to date. All passports must have expiration dates beyond 6 months from the date of arrival in Israel.

What if we moved away from the city where we originally applied for HMI?
HMI’s eligibility criteria for geography remains the same. HMI requires that couples live together, full-time, in the city from which their trip is departing. Some cities have specific geographic catchment areas that restrict eligibility within their community as well. If you need clarification on whether you remain eligible for HMI based on your location, please reach out to us at trips@honeymoonisrael.org to discuss your specific circumstances.

What if we do not want to travel on HMI any longer?
If you want to withdraw your participation from any future HMI trips, please reach out to us at trips@honeymoonisrael.org and we will remove you from future communications.
